Hi,
That first GMC, that was what I learned to drive on at age 12. We had two for farm trucks. One, a dually flatbed just like that one and the other, a regular pickup truck. In farm country in most states, the farm truck can be driven on the road at age 12. No license, no registration, no insurance, no inspection, up to 6 miles away from the furthest field for that farm (not the farmstead). Good enough in most areas for Dad to send you into town for something. All it needed was the farm name painted on the doors or a tag that read: Farm Use. Treated just like a tractor. Ours were 1946, new just post-war. They were the pre-war design brought back until the redesign halfway thru 1947. Which is the style of the other GMC in the series.
That one isn't the one we had, though. Ours were painted John Deere Green. We were also the local JD dealer. In old railroad stations. One of these days, I ought to go back and shoot the old shops in MF. I think I have them shot with a Nikon D1 long ago.....
