The FA 80-160 mm f/4.5 (two images above) is not too bad either. Better used on a tripod @ f/11 though ...

Hi,

I am ambidextrous (say *that* three times fast!) and so can't tell my left from my right half the time! So, I just figured the Left for Right error was normal!

There was a player for NC State Basketball, long ago now, who when asked about that wild left-handed shot replied: I'm Amphibious! So, that's what I usually say.

So, the 6% moon in that shot is an Amphibious Moon. Think a Blue Moon is rare? Nope. Common compared to an Amphibious moon!

Ok, I can be serious now. I like the shot regardless of if that Moon is on the Left or the Right.

And, I love it whenever Richard gets out to the creek with his gear. It's always lovely. I really need to update from the 645D to the Z....

Told about Yogi Berra: I can bat left-handed or right-handed. I am you know amphibious.

However, Yogi also said: "I didn't really say all those things I said."

During a recent visit back to my homeland (the UK), I was able to organise a trip to Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. A couple of weeks ago, I posted a star trail image shot at the ruined Abbey (please refer back to that post made on 20th May for a potted summary of its history).

But the conditions were so lovely (featuring the famous North Sea haar) that I couldn't possibly limit myself to star trails. Over the next couple of days, I will post some shots of the harbour and the town, but for today, here are some more shots of the Abbey.

All shot with GFX100S and a variety of Pentax 645 and 67 lenses.

Thanks mate - glad you like them...

Wish I had been able to get onto the hills overlooking your steelworks as well. Maybe one day!

Sunset over river Thames, London

Taken with Fujifilm GFX50R and SMC Pentax-A* 645 300/4 ED(IF) at f/16 with 6 stop ND filter (to get the shutter speed down to 3 seconds), on Novoflex tripod.

Hi,

Ha! I wonder if that NC State BB player was having a laugh by quoting old Yogi there? All that came from it was the way everyone who saw that interview on TV was: Yep. He's in college for the education. Not!

Hi,

I saw the one where it is a set of 645 gear for $15k. Too far from my pay grade.

Thanks, mate. To don my pedant's hat again, technically Yorkshire isn't a county, but three counties ;-). Which perhaps explains, at least in part, its diversity.

Back in the sea haar of Whitby, this time overlooking the harbour.

Fuji GFX100S with various Pentax 645/67 lenses.

I like #4. #1 is also nice but the color in #4 rounds it off.

Very nicely done!.

1200mm

GFX50R + SMC Pentax-A* 645 600/5.6 ED(IF) + Pentax 645 Rear Converter A 2x

I tried to frame the Shard skyscraper next to a local lamp-post in the park. I liked the extreme compression effect and the fact that the two slopes were parallel.
In order to gain as much depth of field as possible, and have the iconic shape of the Shard as clearly recognizable as possible, I stopped the lens all the way down to f/45 (which becomes f/90 equivalent with the 2x converter). Diffraction be damned!
Then I developed the RAW file in DxO PhotoLab 5 + FilmPack 6, applying the Kodak T-Max 400 film simulation profile with boosted film grain (for artistic effect) and a simulated red filter.

Great Scott!!! Also great shot!

Is that white spot on the lamppost a bird NFT?
