I just picked this lens up. The optics and body are immaculate. But I noticed when I cock the leaf shutter, there is a springy resistance that I don't feel on a large format camera shutter. Is this normal?

Yes there is more of a resistance when you turn the shutter cocking ring. It is stronger than the feel of the lever.
It could be due to the coking action of turning a ring vs pushing/pulling a lever and the mechanisms use to trigger the shutter which are connected to the aperture stop down lever

That makes sense. It seemed inconsistent to me that something would be broken without any outward signs of damage or abuse.

You've allowed me to sleep easier now. Thank you!
