I think that if I were considering turning pro in my field (landscape/ travel) and didn't already have pro equipment, I would go for this camera. This is not my situation, as I am already established with three P67s and various lenses. My getting a P645D at this point would just add to my overhead. I also don't think there is going to be much difference in print sharpness between the P645D and the P67 with Velvia 50.
it depends on the picture size. if you print 60cm up (long side) you'll see the difference...
I think 67 still will be better a little bit. but the most advantage of D that you do not need scanning and film

I'm going to buy 35, 105 and 120macro and 645N while they are still at reasonable price, and 645D will join them in a couple of years...

Oh how I wish that my creativity and vision could match the rendering potential of the 645D! Where I younger and stupider - I have been both - I would buy one and then figure out how to make it pay for itself. Alas, with age comes wisdom I guess, and a boring life filled with rational thoughts.

Or am I, like many others, caught in the "a better camera will make me a better photographer" loop?

My pixel needs have been mostly satisfied after I moved to K-7, but I've plan to get a medium format in the future for landscapes (I voted 3 yrs+). I considered film med format but given the price point of the 645D I'm just going to wait it out. It's terrific to see a med format camera below the 10K mark.

At a frame rate of 1 per 1.2 seconds there will be little use for it outside of the studio, or near studio conditions. MF has been stuck at this speed for several years now which is really quite backward given the general rate of digital development.

I've been taking photographs for 30 years and hardly ever felt the need for a higher frame rate but perhaps I'm just starting to show my age... Seriously, it depends on both what you shoot and your style of shooting. When I want a machine gun I'll buy a Kalashnikov

Well if ( or when ) I have an extra $10k, or a client willing to spend the cash for the quality I will have the 645D high on the list.

I know what you are saying and I'm of the same frame of mind as a whole (pun accidental) but there are times when that just isn't quick enough, youngsters in the studio can change expression incredibly quickly and to catch the smile the parents want there is a need for speed.
