Shutter count can be found very easily via 'exiftool' which is available for Windows and for Linux. I have used only the Linux version, as follows:

The command 'exiftool imgpxxxx.pef' will read a RAW/PEF file to present you with a very long list of stuff which should include a line headed "Shutter Count".

Instead of having to read through this list, use 'exiftool imgpxxxx.pef | grep "Shutter Count".

Easy!

Windows version using command prompt ExifTool
>ExifTool <filename> | find /i "shutter count"
Shutter Count : 17960

The only thing about this is that you have to use your latest image to get the current shutter count of the Body. While the on-line tool is nice, it requires you to upload the image to "somewhere" which is not necessarily what you might want to do if you are paranoid about letting things out of your control.

exiftool is very useful indeed. Especially if you are linux user and shoot RAW (and online tool doesn't deal with raw and my RawTherapee strips out shutter count).

You learn quite a bit browsing the EXIF when you take a shot you like.
