FF lenses for the K-1 that can be bought new
Posted By: Class A, 02-20-2016, 07:36 AM

We all know there is a ton of great FF glass available on the used market that will work great with the K-1.

However, which are the currently available FF lenses (in current catalogues of lens manufacturers) that can be used with the K-1?

Below is my initial list (including some later additions). I'm sure there are still some missing and please post to this thread with information about the lens (but please make sure the lens is in production). I'll then add it to the list.

If you have used any of the listed lenses on the K-1 and find that they do not perform like a proper FF lens, please post to this thread as well. There are some DA (APS-C) lenses included which have been tested as "good for FF" on film cameras but due to differences between film and digital sensors, there may be a few surprises (although I tried to be conservative and only included those that would be true surprises if they failed the "K-1 test".)

Thanks in advance.

P.S.: I realise that there is also another current FF lenses overview but the latter contains discontinued lenses and I think there is value in maintaining a list of lenses that can be bought brand new. Not everyone is prepared to go hunting on the used market.

I would be interested to see how these bad boys perform on the K1 once all this stuff hits the streets.

I know... I was just making a comment that I will be watching those.

I took them from your original post

I can't help create a list though. I am not that up to speed on who is making what and when it might come to market. When it gets here I can evaluate it and buy accordingly

I think he was referencing them, not adding them. Read his post again.

Also, shouldn't the FA35/2.0 be on this list?

You are probably right.

Since I invited posts about lenses that should be added, I interpreted it differently.

Thanks, but it is discontinued.
EDIT: Only according to B&H, apparently.

I've added it.

Thanks, but I'm looking for FF lenses.

Those lenses only got a "+" rating on the "DA lenses on Full Frame: Test Shots" thread. A single "+" rating means they require stopping down to work on the K-1 and I hence do not consider them as true FF lenses.

You might as well refer to the thread https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/169-pentax-full-frame/313830-current-pent...ml#post3539798 which was stickied in the Full Format subforum. Let's all hope the K-1 is not the last FF camera from Pentax.

We can avoid double work this way.

@Class A , the A 50/1.2 can be purchased new in some markets. Does this make sense to add?
