I just thought I'd share my review of the Pentax 21mm f/2.4 Limited with you. Had a great time with this lens on the K-1 II.

I don't often get gear lust, but the K-1 + 21mm Ltd just looks so desirable...

No doubt the DFA21 looks good. I'm waiting to see Ricoh's commitment on Pentax before I decide to buy more K mount products. I have the 15-30, no hurry.

The "barrel distortion at the center of the frame" in the stadium photo is actually a curved wall. It's not distorted, it's built that way.

Nice write up, it also wouldn't have hurt to include an APS-C camera to give a persepective on how the lens would perform on the newer K3MKIII - although for the APS-C user-base the DA21 exists, given the present state of reviews on the DA21 I have the impression the DFA21 would give the DA21 a real run for its money.

Just one small correction: the minimum marked focus distance on the DFA21 is actually 0.6ft ( measurements in inches always gave me a headache to translate into mm) - giving a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.26x* I haven't exactly checked the calibration of this and the exact MFD seems to be slightly closer than this indication, but in my pre-caffinated state it would be unwise to attempt checking it...

* which in the end is a more informative figure on subject magnification.

Are you in Norman? I'm an OU alum myself. Never expected to see photos of the campus here! I visited a few years ago on a beautiful summer day and took lots of photos.

Nicely done review. It just makes me want this lens more. Maybe I need to sell my DFA 15-30mm lens and move this direction. The 15-30 is a nice lens and I enjoy it when I take it out, but it is also a beast to carry around...
