www.pentaximaging.com/slr/K-7/ Yeah it's probably a guess now but still I imagine it should be working in a few weeks.

Regarding autofocus on the K-7 if you look at the X70 it has:

"Fast Face Detection
With PENTAX's face detection technology, the camera quickly and automatically sees up to 32 faces in 0.03 seconds, so portraits and group shots are bright and focused, even in backlit situations."

Now while I realise it doesn't focus in 0.3 seconds but detects them.. Has anyone tested the autofocus on the X70 yet? It may be a taste of what's to come?

So I guess this will trickle into the K-7 and also the X70 has a focus assist.. so what does that say?

Also the X70 has:

"High-speed continuous shooting
With high-speed continuous shooting at 11 FPS, the X70 makes sure you get the winning shot, even in with the fastest action."

Heck they pretty much have the same name I doubt it's any coincidence! They're like cousins

That pic has come up here about a dozen times in about as many threads.

I really wish the admins and mods here would consolidate the threads so we wouldn't have so many covering the very same topics...

There is definitely something there on http://www.pentaximaging.com/slr/k-7/ as it forwards to PENTAX - 500 - Server Error

which reads:
"SERVER ERROR
The server encountered an error while trying to handle your request. Try retyping the URL into the address bar."

but if you make up a url i.e www.penatximaging.com/slr/k30d/ you don't get forwarded just this message:

"PAGE NOT FOUND
The page you requested may have moved or no longer exists. If you reached this page using a bookmark, it is possible the address is out of date. If you typed in an address, or selected a link from another website or from an email, it's possible the address is inaccurate."

Pentax are forwarding everyone to the wrong error message but obviously it's another tease confirming the name!
And if you look carefully at your URL's
pentaximaging.com has never been equal to penatximaging.com

sorry i mistyped them in here. They both seem to be forwarding to error 500 pages (server error pages) on pentax imaging where as about 2 hours ago if you put pentaximaging.com/slr/cool/ you'd get an error 404.. read what you will

Dimensions of Pentax K-7 (corrected)

Meanwhile, I have been able to use additional material and I have to correct my earlier size estimate.

Taking my own image (i.e., the guessed position of lower border (**)), I end up with the following measures: [...]
[...]
So, the K7D is about as high as a K200D and about as narrow as a K-m.
I was not correct. Sorry for this.
Part of the confusion comes from the fact that K-m did have a thinner lens mount metal ring than K-7! I now corrected for this systematic error.

I've been playing in auto cad (yes, Im' bored @ work) Outline of new K is green. Measures are in milimeters.
The dimensions given by Matjazz suffer from the same problem.

These are my new (and more accurate from better input) size estimates for K-7. Estimated to be exact +/- 2 mm:

............. K-m K200D K-7 K20D
Width [mm]: 122.5 133.5 130 142.0
Height [mm]: 91.5 _95.0 100 101.0

So, this is about nearly as wide as K200D and about nearly as high as K20D.

Which puts it sizewise in between K200D and K20D.

That's what I was thinking, maybe they can detect panning and tripods (already off with the timers) and so switching SR on or off would be less needed. On another note they could also allow the reassignment of one button (RAW button for example) to that function.

Haha yes I thought maybe they'd be an Easter egg in any case the K-7 is defiantly worth all this hype. Pentax have stepped up a their game what with this and the 645D even the x70 is pretty decent for a bridge camera!

Personally, it may be the first camera I will pre-order, especially if the rumoured specs are true (and I'm not talking about square or APS-H sensor non-sense). But smaller body, 5fps, 920k 3" LCD, improved Liveview, faster shutter, 100% VF, improved AF and metering, are all gold to me.
I'll wait until the specs are confirmed, and if the price is "reasonable", I'll pre-order as well.

Won't be a first for me, however, as I pre-ordered my K10D. In fact, my local store created the part number in their inventory system for me
