Thank you to all for their advice. I actually came across a pentax K2000 in the marketplace for $275 with the original boxes and manuals and purchased that. I figured it would be a great starting camera while saving me some money that could be used for lenses

And I purchased Understanding exposure yesterday and found it to be a great book that is helping me learn a lot about exposure.

My K2000 should be here tomorrow. Any opinions on where to get the lens hood, and sdhc card and which brand to get? For the case I was planning on just going to best buy and looking at them in person
