K7 external flash

Hello
I'm buying very soon K7 kit
I have had Fuj s602 'n SunPak auto 3075g.
The SunPak has 197 VDC trigger voltage IIRC.
Too high, I think, so solution is optoisolator or wireless trigger ?
Maybe new flash would still be the best solution: Sigma EF-530 DG Super is my mind for my budjet range flashes.

Welcome to the club.. Personally I would not mount a 197 volt flash on a modern camera without some protection. You can buy a device made by Wein that will keep the camera end of the trigger voltage at 6 volts. Last time I looked they were pretty expensive, like in the $50 range. At that point, you're well on your way towards the cost of a new flash. I don't have any experience with the Sigma flashes, only Pentax (for wireless), but it is a much better solution than trying to rig something to work.

This thread and the web site it points to cover all the possible P-TTL flashes:

Unless there is something really great about the older flashes you have, it is usually cheaper to find an equivalent flash with a safe voltage than isolate the higher voltage.

I bought the Pentax AF540FGZ for my K-7. It's not a budget solution. I like having the compatibility worked out already.
