A must prime lens (IMHO) is the Sigma 30mm f1.4, and the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 for a mid zoom.
BTW, get a boatload of older Pentax primes for the fun and experience of the "old" film days.
If you're a zoom guy, three good lenses could cover your entire range, and that Tamron is one of them.

It's outstanding.

My must have list 16-50 (coming the day after tomorrow ), 50-135, and the 100mm macro WR.

It's differant for everyone. If you shoot all landscapes go wide, portraits go tight, birds go Sigma.

My must have was a DA 18-250mm, but I have since sold it and bought a Tamron 17-50/2.8.

People rave about the Tamron 28-75/2.8, but if you don't have a wide angle lens & make use of wide, it would make sense to go for the 17-50/2.8. Despite its price, it really is a great lens. The DA* 16-50 is physically larger, heavier & of course considerably more expensive than the 17-50. All the best.

It won't matter for most people, and also it won't matter because I don't think the KM is weathersealed but the 16-50 is weathersealed whereas the tamron is not. Just thought I'd point that out. From what I've heard, the tamron is a great lens though.
