Shake Reduction

Just ordered a new k-x from ebay. The shake reduction feature is not highlighted in the menu and I have tried the troubleshooting techniques in the manual to get it to function but it will not correct. Any suggestions?

Chances are good that you have some mode chosen that turns SR off. It IS off, Correct? If not, how much shake are you trying to correct? Have you waited for the little hand to appear in the viewfinder before firing the shutter?

For instance, setting the self-timer will disable SR.

The SR will also not work if you are using a remote, external flash in wireless mode, in bulb or trying to use the in-camera HDR. Also before you can use SR while using the aperture ring on the lens (not in "A" mode), you have to change a setting in the camera menu.

If this camera was bought used, you might want to restore all of the settings back to to the factory defaults. No telling what has been changed.

Timer Mode

Thanks. The camera was in timer mode for some reason. I better read the manual cover to cover. This camera has many more features then my old 35 mm Pentax Super Program.
