I recently invested in a Sandisk 16Gb 30Mb/s class 10 card for my K-7. I have not used it for video. When using for photos it indicates 'full' after 10 to 15 shots. Anyone else have this issue?

Did you buy the card on ebay? Some of them are fake. Are you shooting RAW + or jpg? And lastly, have you formatted the card in the camera rather on the computer?

Thanks photolady. I bought the card at Best-Buy and I am shooting in jpg. I formatted it on the camera.

i use a variety of cheap cards, I dont shoot full frame rate or do a lot of video and typically spend $1-$2 per GB at present.

I have cards ranging from 512MB through 8GB, I dont get larger cards for fear that if I drop it i will have too many images lost,

I started using only Sandisk Extreme III (Class 10) 30 MBp/s 8GB
I have a few Sandisk Extreme (something Class U-1) 45 MBp/s 8GB when they were the same price.

They do write jpegs slightly faster but not enough to justify paying more for them.
Maybe with a K-5 and 7 fps shooting. But maybe the limitation is the tiny buffer in the camera more than the card.

When I get to shooting RAW I might use 16GB cards if I find myself filling up 8GB too fast.

I dont do video BTW.

I only use Sandisk USB sticks also. I've had only 2 "other brand" ones and they they both died.

Hi!

I need another SD-card for my Pentax K-7 and since SDXC now is supported I am considering a 64 Gb card. The firmware update however states that UHS-1 is not supported, but I read people are using Class 10 cards.

Looking at the Sandisk webpage there are two reasonable options for me:

Sandisk Ultra-SDXC 64 Gb 30 MB/s Class-10 UHS-1
Sandisk Ultra-SDXC 64 Gb 20 MB/s Class-6

The price for the cards is more or less identical, thus I would prefer the faster one. But only if it is working with my Pentax K-7...

Any one who knows for sure?
