K200 - ael

With the 'lock AutoExposure with AutoFocus' custom setting #4 selected, may I still use the AE-L button before focusing? If so, then when I focus, pressing the shutter release halfway after re-composing, will the camera recalculate the exposure or keep the one that was first locked with the AE-L button?
I would like to try it but don't have a K200 on hand.
Thank you very much.

The AE-L button works in the same way regardless of this setting. If you lock it ahead of time, the exposure is unchanged when you focus. If you hit it after focusing, exposure is still changed
