old lens on kx

Does anyone know if the lens mount on kx is KAF2 normal or the crippled KAF2?
Is there any limitations of using a lens compatible with the KAF (not crippled) mount, which i think are the FA J, F, FA and D FA.
I wanna know if I would be able to use auto focus or not?

thanks
(My first post as a Pentaxian! =D)

There are no limitations for AF or A series lenses on the "Crippled" KAF2 mount. What makes it "Crippled" is that it has no mechanical linkage for the aperture so you have to use the Av +- button to meter when using K or M series lenses.

The "crippling" has nothing to do with autofocus. If the lens is an autofocus lens - and all the ones you mention are autofocus - then it will autofocus on your camera.

The "crippled" nature of the mount has to do with using much older lenses - ones that are not only not autofocus, but also lack an "auto" position on their aperture rings to allow the camera to set the aperture (eg, M series lenses). these lenses can be used, but you have to follow the procedure described in the sticky thread at the top of this forum on how to use manual lenses.

That's great to hear!!!The great thing about Pentax lenses,is that they have backward compatibility with all Pentax digital SLR's.
