Pentax K-x

Does anyone know anybody that has a Pentax K-x 2 lens kit with the 300mm in stock and for sell? Had one on order through Amazon since June 16, today they sent e-mail saying don`t know when they will get it. Would like to go ahead and buy one if possible. Thanks for any help.

Have you looked at Adorama or asked B&H (who have a store rep on this very forum btw).

I had the same issue, so I ended up buying with just the 18-55 lens, and then a couple weeks later I ordered the Tamron 70-300.

Even the Pentax Webstore shows the K-x Dual Lens Kit as out of stock.

Have you checked with Prodigital2000 on ebay? From what I remember they're Pentax Authorized and you'll have a valid warranty.

I just took a peek and they have an auction up. I would call them to be sure its acutally in stock before ordering. There is a 1-866 number on their page.

Wow it does seem impossible to find the K-X kit with the 300mm, 200mm doesn't seem to be a problem.

I might be missing something obvious, but could you order the K-x single lens kit from Amazon for $499 and the 55-300mm lens separately for $349?

That puts the price at about $50 more than the two lens kit list for, but might be better than not getting it.

Just a thought.

If you order the 55-300mm lens separately a conical lens hood is included in the box along with a soft carrying case. Purchasing an 18-55mm lens separately includes a petal shaped lens hood (with access panel) in the box, but not a soft case. If I remember correctly, the conical hood (PH-RBG) for the 55-300mm lens retails for around $64.00 US if purchased by itself. If you were also wanting the lens hood you'd actually save a few dollars by purchasing 55-300mm lens separately, as opposed to having it included in the kit. IHTH.

I found my K-x kit through Google; I have found it to return the best/cheapest results.

Simply type in your search criteria [ex: K-x 18-55 55-300] and search. Select the "shopping" tab from the top of the page. If you want, continue to check back for newer/better deals- but if you want it NOW, I'd suggest you look into the very first listing.

Provantage is selling your kit for $750 US [w/out shipping]

I suggest 18-55mm kit and Sigma 70-300 APO DG as tele. You loose quick-shift and 15mm range but you gain Macro 1:2 and much lower price compared with the 55-300 from Pentax.

anyway, after LBA kicks in , you'll probably buy a 17-70mm (or similar from Sigma/Tamron) which is much superior to the DA-L kit so the 15mm will be covered.

Another do-it-all option would be the 18-250mm which basically covers all needs (with some compromises, but better than kit lenses) and pair it with a nifty-fifty for low light and you're set
