Adobe Photoshop Elements

I have lots of experience with Photoshop CS, and now that i have an SLR i decided to try also another program.
Thus i am trying now Adobe Elements, but it seems that it takes too much time when i open a photo or when i click to edit a photo.

Do you face the same problems?

Probably is my computer of course, but is Elements so much "heavier" program?

You had me wondering so I just tried a couple drag and drop pics onto the PE8 icon and it takes 2.5 sec to open and be ready to work with a 10MB JPG. I run a 3 yr old PC that was tops in speed at that time...quad core intel Q6600 overclocked to 3.6ghz, 8 GB DDR2 @1081Mhz and a slow by today's standards, 750GB SATA drive.

Hope that gives you something to compare to.

I have an older IMac (3 years old) and am running PSE8 which runs fast compared to PSE6.
