need help with the AF-360 flash unit

when i first got my flash unit for the K10D it was working perfectly, i haven't used it for some time now and i decided to check up on it, surprisingly the flash will not go into P-TTL mode and is stuck on TTL mode the auto and manual modes seem fine but NO P-TTL i cant figure out why this sudden change is it something wrong with the camera settings or flash settings? or could it be that the flash unit is going crazy on me?

can anyone help me please to figure out the problem, note i don't have a pentax service center where i live.

I had the same problem with my K10D.
Everything worked, except for the P-TTL mode.

Even took it in for repair.
At the service station, an engineer took a contact spray and scratched the camera connection in the hot shoe a bit with a knife.
After that it worked fine.

Apparently there is one connection point that for some reason has problems sometimes more than the others.
