Super Takuma on K-x?

I just found a nice copy of super takumar 50mm 1.4 in a local shop for $50, clean front, back element, little bit of dust inside and good, clean aperture ring/blades. a bit of yellowing but from the info this forum provide, looks like it'll go away after some sun/UV treatment.
Now the question is, is it worth to get this lens over a M/A lens with a k-mount? assuming the same price for the lens.
And any suggestion on 3rd party adapter? the official pentax screw -> k cost more than the lens itself

Thanks!

1) The M42 is more special in many ways. $50 is a good deal, but not a great one.

2) Pentax original adapter sells for $30 from Pentax directly if you live in the U.S., and yes, it's worth it for many reasons. Plus, the adapter services all of your M42 lenses.

3) It's spelled "Takumar," with an "r."
