Ebay Lithium Rechargables????

Anyone try them?

4 for under $20 and another $20 for the charger.

They are direct from China so I'm hesitant to put then in and have them melt down...

Link? there are probably hundreds of China made batteries and chargers on ebay. You better off buying 4 Eneloops w/ charger for about $25.00. Then again, Eneloops are probably China made too.

Fry's Electronics has 4 Eneloops with charger for < $25 and a super pack with 8 AA, 8 AAA, 4 C, 4 D (maybe 2) and charger for about $40.

I don't know why people would buy anything else.

Since the introduction of Sanyo Eneloop NiMH AAs, there is no reason to use Lithium AAs anymore which are actually inferior. BTW, those are 3.6v a piece, 14.4v total.

Don't go cheap on batteries. Get the Eneloops, and shoot happily ever after

Also, buy a decent charger. You'll be glad you did.

NO!!!

Lithium batteries are a different chemistry- 3.6 V per cell instead of 1.2V (nimh) or 1.5V (alkaline)

Those are for flashlight freaks - higher voltage = brighter light. Use them in electronics that take AA batteries and you will fry your gear.

What problems are you having with traditional low-self-discharge (eneloop or any other brand) batteries such that you would venture into lithiums?

The lithiums will give you more shots, BUT, they only work ONE time, when they're dead, they're dead. The Eneloops can be recharged time after time, and don't really cost much more than lithium disposables. Plus, you're not throwing caustic stuff in the garbage with rechargables either. If you have 2 sets of Eneloops, you would have to take a LOT of photos to need to recharge.

eneloops are the greatest, had some troubles with std rechargables first up, got my eneloops and havent looked back.

i barely ever need to charge mine up these days

I'm happy with my enloops so far. I was just curious about why some prefer lithiums. Thanks for answering that Stratman. BTW, is that a bass in your avatar?

Yep, the greatest gamefish of them all, the smallmouth bass !!!

Here's my best one, caught in the same river as my avatar. She was pushing 4 lbs.

OOh, nice one! Do you catch and release or catch and skillet? LOL! Sorry if that offends anybody, but I love cooking what we catch. We don't have smallmouth around here. We do have a very invasive steelhead catfish that is fun to catch and can go anywhere from 10-70 pounds. fun to catch and eat.
