Time for flash with AEB?

I've used a K-7 for some time now, and am very satisfied with the 5-shot AEB operation. However, I wanted to try adding a little "fill" flash (at low power) and thought I had it down by using the delay feature in the menu. Supposedly, there is a 12-second pause before exposure, even though the manual "hints" that single shots can be done. Maybe I'm missing something. When I choose the "self-portrait" delay in Automatic Exposure Bracketing I indeed get a 12-second delay, but then all five shots fire off before a flash could be recharged. I had hoped there was a way to use AEB and get a delay for each shot so the flash could recharge. Any ideas?

one of the bracketing modes allows for a 3 second delay before each shot, if that's enough for your flash to recharge

There is also a menu option to allow pictures to be taken while the flash is charging, if you turn that off then it might solve the problem

Thank you! I will try both those methods and report back what I find.
