Custom Image Feature on KX

I bought a used k-x from a member here. Not sure if the settings were reset or not so I'm wondering what the default settings were on the Custom Image feature. Mine is set to Vibrant and a few of the dials are tweaked a bit. Should I put them back to neutral? I know its preference but I'm not really sure what the Custom Image feature does. I'm assuming its only used for manual and semi manual modes.
I purchased a new k-x last year but got rid of it so I never hadn't given it much thought.
If possible can someone explain a little more about this feature?

If i remember correctly, the default is vibrant and not neutral.

and custom image is used by P, Tv, Av and M modes.

personally I feel vibrant's a nice setting, except when there is too much red. they tend to get overblown.

The default is Bright. +1 on contrast and +1 on sharpness. The second choice is Natural -1 on sharpness. Then Portrait with no changes. Landscape, same as Bright. Vibrant, same as Portrait. Muted, -3 contrast and -2 sharpness. Last is Monochrome, sharpness -1 and Filter Effect set to none at default.

I'd suggest setting everything back to defaults (page 280 of the manual):

Resetting the Menu

Settings in the [Rec. Mode] menu, [Playback] menu, [Set-up]
menu, direct keys and playback mode palette can be reset to default
settings.

1 Select [Reset] in the [Set-up 3] menu and press the fourway
controller (RIGHT).
The [Reset] screen appears.
2 Press the four-way controller (UP)
to select [Reset] and press the
OK button.
The settings are reset, and the screen
that was displayed before selecting the
menu appears again.

1 Select [Reset Custom Functions] in the [Custom
Setting 4] menu and press the four-way controller (RIGHT).
The [Reset Custom Functions] screen appears.
2 Press the four-way controller (UP)
