Sunlight falling upon anything is "passive solar", like a cat.
I keep a couple ancient Prakticas around just in case I'm without power for a few weeks.
The ultimate "passive solar" camera is probably an oatmeal-carton pinhole pano.
Or maybe just a pattern sunburnt onto my back.

The "passive solar" isn't organized and provides no power to said bodies. The light reaching the film plane and focusing screen is bent and focused by the lens.
