How to get an English manual in Japan?

For my work I live (and work) in Japan and bought a K-x via internet which arrived today:
  • Guess what? The manual is in Japanese and my language skills in Japanese are very limited...
  • I am aware you can download it for free and even order it for not too much, but I want it for free!!!
How to get this arranged properly?

No, 324 pages...
- Oh, I can put 4 pages on page to reduce it to 81
- No, I just want an original one which I can read and I think I deserve that...

Go into the Pentax Forum in Shinjuku.
I heard that they can exchange it for an English version.

Haven't tried this myself, but remember reading it.

Not an answer, but one of the better ideas I've heard lately is to download pdf manuals to your smart phone. When you think about manuals for your camera, flash, intervalometer, GPS, ...

Thank you

Mickey gave you a great suggestion.

However, do not dismiss Jasvox' point. It is very useful to have the PDF file of the manual.

Personally I prefer the hard copy of the manual, but there have been a few instance when I was after some rapid info where I found very useful to have the PDF file and to search it. (One example was to reply to a question posted on this forum!).

Have you made this request to the internet where you bought it from? Otherwise solutions have been suggested here.

I just googled "pdf manual for Pentax K-X" and got mine. Or, if you want the actual book, see if you can get one from where you got the camera.

Yeah, I am a Dutch guy in Japan, but my technical English is at comparable level as my Dutch, especially if you compare it to my Japanese...

I had it bought on the internet via a colleague and he informed my that normal shows in Japan only have Japanese. It is about asking for Chinese manual in Belgium or US.

So problem has not been solved, but in the mean time I started playing with the K-x and planning to buy 35 mm F2.4.
- correct focus on manual focus 50 mm F1.4 is a challenge for a newbie like me
