I would not chance "just one more time", ditch them.
I'll second the motion. What is the missed/destroyed shot worth to you? Get a SanDisk Extreme III and cut down the worry. Better yet, get several and rotate them. (There are other good brands, provided they are not fake)

Go with good cards. Sandisk, Lexar, a few other brands are good.

I have had good luck with Kingston cards; they're less expensive than Lexar or Sandisk but the reliability is right up there in my opinion. Perhaps not speed, but I don't care too much about speed in what I shoot.

No sense in buying $500+ cameras and then throwing in a $20 4GB card. It's akin to buying a $2000 lens and putting a piece of $25 plate window glass in front of it.

I have used Adata and Transcend cards. They have all failed for me (formatting errors, showing as full when they're not, "electronically locked," etc.

Think of it as shooting a wedding with expired film. Sure it will probably be fine since the film was frozen, but when the bride comes out looking green because the colors shifted she won't care that you saved $100 by not buying fresh film before the shoot. All she cares about is her dress is green.
