UV filter stuck on lens

Hi all

So, it seems I have a 77mm hoya UV filter stuck on my tamron 70-200/2.8.

Any ideas on how I can take it out gently?

Thanks in advance

Take a tie wrap and cut off the little locking tap then wrap the tie wrap around the filter and turn it .

Try gently pressing the front of the lens down onto something like a piece of rubber or leather that's flat on a table or work surface, then rotating the lens.

Often it's the slight distortion that occurs when applying pressure to the sides of the filter with your fingers that causes it to stick; applying pressure to the whole front of the filter doesn't cause the same distortion.

Does the filter say "UV-R" on it somewhere?

Get yourself a pair of latex dipped/coated work gloves.

try filter wrenches

there are specifically made filter wrenches you can get to remove filters from lenses or separate stacked filters that are stuck

also there are strap wrenches that are used for opening bottle lids
