Isn't the M-50 on a DSLR actually a 75mm because of the whole 50 x 1.5 thing?

Field of view. The lens focal length doesn't change (but you knew that already didn't you

Nope, got it mixed up for second.

It wasn't until I read the words Field Of View, that I then remembered it has to do with the distance from the sensor.

It seems theres no Magic Lantern book for the K-x model

any other good books to try?

It's a 50mm lens. The kit lens (18-55) set to 50mm will have the same FOV as the M-50 when they are both mounted on a DSLR.
