Help! Camera Dropped Lens Fell Off

Help! My Pentax K10 dropped and the front part of my 18-55 lens fell off. I cant seem to get it back on in the correct position with the lettering facing up. The lens will not zoom to 55mm. What is the correct procedure to get the lens on right?

Your lens is screwed.

Good news is, it's a cheap lens and you can replace it for ~$50 on the forum's marketplace.

...or take this as an opportunity to upgrade?

Well, it's not that cheap. its a da 18-55 (11) and it sells anywhere from$90-$189 on Amazon market place. What do you think a good up grade would be? I have an 55-300DA and a 50 1.4 prime; all Pentax

You're just having a bitch of a time with that camera, aren't you? Any chance you can show us exactly what you now now have in a lens? Pentax's 16-45 might be a suitable (read Will be better) for your 18-55.

I can imagine the shape the camera is in.

You dropped your camera, and you're asking for procedures to fix a lens which is now toast?

Are you trying to punk us?

The 18-55 IIs have gone that cheap on the forum marketplace.

If you're upgrading, consider the Tamron 17-50/2.8 or Pentax 16-45/4.

To "Punk" someone is to play a practical joke on them or try and fool them.

I didn't. I asked to see a photo of the lens so we might be able to suggest if it is worth fixing or not.

For your purpose, in this thread anyway, take your photo and save it for web. I think we are limited on attachment size.

While making your post, choose the Manage Attachments below the window you are typing in in Additional Options.

Then simply pick the photos you want to upload and hit UPLOAD..

See photos below.
