Hey.
I'm new to these forums and to pentax, Recently bought my first DSLR camera " Pentax k-x " since it was a beginners camera and I tought it would suit me good since im not rather good with cameras.

So to the questions, ive herd that k-x is not weather proof, but I can still use it outside when its not snowing or raining etc without damaging it or when It is cold since Its almost winter here?

Hope you understand my question (:

Welcome!

People have used non weather proof cameras outside in poor weather since the beginning of cameras. Probably anyway.. Just don't let it get soaked. If it really concerns you...

Rain Dust Snow Wind Cover for Canon 300D 350D 30D 400D - eBay (item 190459289850 end time Oct-28-10 12:53:22 PDT)

or similar (just grabbed one, no particular experience with the product).

Jeff, let us know how it works out when you get a chance to try it out.

I have used my Kx in heavy fog and very light rain with no problem. But I would suggest carrying a towel or napkin with you to wipe the moisture off. Most DLSRs have very limited WR so don;t be afraid to use it outdoors.

Oh yeah it'll be fine, with some careful intelligent use.

Batteries may fade faster in the cold, so take extra. And let the camera change temperature gradually if the differences are extreme.

I've used mine in cold snowy conditions and didn't have any problems. As long as you don't get it soak you should be alright.
