K-x high-ISO noise reduction: use it or do it in PP instead?

Quick question. I'm shooting 100% RAW.

Is it better to leave the high-ISO NR enabled or should I do all of my NR inside LR3.2?

thx!

I could be wrong, but I thought the high-ISO NR enabled (camera setting) only applied to JPEGs.

The high-ISO NR only applies to JPEG output.

I shoot RAW+ so I do leave it on, but if I was shooting 100% DNG or PEF, I'd turn it off.

LR3x does a great job rendering K-x RAW, including excellent very subtle NR. I have been impressed with LR3.

I believe it depends on the software you use to convert. If you use Pentax/Silkypix, the camera NR setting will be shown in the raw preview file and will be applied when you convert to jpeg. It does not actually affect the file until you convert to jpeg, so you can still add or subtract NR before conversion.

I shoot raw and convert in DCU4. I find the in-camera default NR on the K-x (Medium, ISO 800) creates a plasticky texture. I have the K-x set for Low NR starting at ISO 1600, which looks rather similar to my K20D on the Weak setting. If I need more, I add some in p-p.
