Your first stop should be the Lens Database on the forum as I am sure that lovable lens has dozens of reviews from members.

Absolutely great lens, you won't find too many complaints about it. It was my first real lens upgrade, and I still have a soft spot for it, haha. The lens database is also a good spot for more information! It has been available from Pentax since 2003.

Taken from..

It's a decent lens. In practice though I always thought 45mm a little short. For the price though, it beats the tar out of the 18-55 kit lenses, gives you an important 2mm on the wide end (more useful than it may sound) and is a constant aperture lens.

A couple more

Hi,
BTW, there is a new review on this lens in ephotozine.com. They have new review and for 18 - 55 AL II, so look just for interest .

Regards,
A.

I had this lens for a couple of years before I replaced it with the DA* 16-50. It was a good upgrade to the kit lens, but the 16-50 was an even better upgrade from the 16-45.

Nevertheless, you will get sharp and reasonably well contrasted images for the lens, and it is probably the best value for money wide angle zoom around.

Check out the lens review database for more info.
