There isn't much on this particular item. However, I came across this....

"Bushnell M42 Automatic Lens, 90-230mm F4.5 constant"
This lens was made by Tokina and was sold in the early-mid 1970's in just about all SLR mountings under many brands such as Soligor, Vivitar, Sears, Montgomery Ward, Hanimex, Mamiya, Yashica, etc. It was a huge best-seller at the time apparently. I have counted over a dozen brands it was sold as. Needless to say, this is an extremely common lens.
It is a two-touch zoom (separate zoom and focus). It doesn't focus as close as people are used to these days (9ft/3m).
It is a pretty decent lens in my experience, little flare, good contrast and fairly sharp, though you should watch out for infinity focus at shorter focal lengths. The built-in hood is worthless, but you probably don't need to get a better one. The tripod mount is a nice feature.
The alternative to this of the same vintage is the Kiron-made 85-205/3.8 (usually labeled "close focusing" or similar), also extremely common, was sold under as many brands and is generally available just as cheaply. The Kiron is a bit sharper, a bit faster, and focuses much closer but isn't quite the focal length and it lacks a tripod socket.

I think I was considering this lens when I was bouncing around the ocean on a tin can when I was in the Navy in about 71.
There is a Vivitar version of the lens for sale for $59
