SMC M 50 mm 1.7

I am wondering about using the M series lens on my K2000. I enabled the use of the aperture ring in the menus and when I turn my camera off and then back on it asks for the focal length. Should I put the 50 mm value in or do I need to do the math for the conversion with the manual film lens to the digital SLR. If i need to input the conversion, what does a 50mm translate to for the DSLR?

50mm is fine- the focal length is the same regardless of whether it's digital or film.

Yep... 50=50 regardless of what camera you put it on. I'm sure someone else will step in here and explain field of view (HCC posted a nice graphic of it in another thread asking exactly the same question) is that of a 75mm lens (but it is Still a 50mm lens)..

Then turn the camera on and go shoot some photos with it..

Yeah, put 50. That will help the camera to set the proper SR.
