star trails

Hi everyone: I will be attemping too take some star trails this month and could use some pointers. I have a k-x carmera and two lenes, live in central
Alberta. I have only been shooting since Christmas. so andy help would be greatly appreciated thanks mike

Wide lens, small aperture, tripod, long exposure, and no distracting light polution.

The latest issue of SkyNews has some great examples of star trail photography by Yuichi Takasaka, done by taking hundreds of exposures and then stacking. Some of them were even done with Pentax gear
