Buongiorno a tutti e complimenti (meritati)
Non più tardi di due giorni fa ho avuto una folgorazione (avete mai visto l'ultimo film con Leonardo Di Caprio?)

Di punto in bianco, mentre pulivo la mia Eos, mi sono ricordato che mio padre aveva una vecchia macchina fotografica a rullino. Così sono andato a frugare negli armadi finchè non è saltata fuori una borsa da fotografo (io me la ricordavo lisa, di pelle nera con gli interni in velluto rosso... l'avrà cambiata, mi sono detto, dopo almeno 20 anni...)
La apro ed eccola lì, così come me la ricordavo (soltanto molto più piccola )

Credevo fosse una Nikon e invece tra le mani mi ritrovo una Spotmatic F!!! con tanto di 35, 85, 105 e moltiplicatore di focale... che dire, avevo le lacrime agli occhi, quanti ricordi...

Passato il momento commemorativo vengo al dunque, anche per non annoiarvi troppo.
NON CI CAPISCO NIENTE!
E pensare che uso macchine fotografiche da 2 anni (digitali, lo ammetto).

Parto dalla batteria. Nel corpo macchina ne ho trovato una da 1,35 v (scarica ma fortunatamente ancora sigillata nonostante i decenni di inutilizzo).
ho cercato un pò in rete e ho letto che le batterie corrispettive modente sono 1,5 v.
La mia domanda è: posso utilizzarle senza alcuna paura?

Non vedo l'ora di metterci un rullino e fare qualche scatto

Hi Rinaldo

You can safely use 1.5 V batteries with your Spotmatic F; However, you should buy a battery with the same dimensions of the original.

Rinaldo, welcome to the forum. As Manel Brand said, you can use the 1.5 volt battery in your Spotmatic. The meter will not read accurately, though. You will have to adjust for the fact that the additional voltage will make the exposure meter read "bright". I had to do this with my old Minolta SRt 101 when the mercury batteries it used became obsolete.

Another option is to use a search engine on your computer and find a source for Wein cells. These are designed to replace many 1.35 volt batteries used in some older model cameras. These are fit, form, function replacements for the older batteries. They don't last as long but you won't have to make any exposure adjustments as the voltage is the same as what was originally called for in your Spotmatic.

Hi Don. It could happen but not necessarily; exposure should work fine with negatives. I would give it a try.

La messa a fuoco del soggetto nella SPF avviene tramite qualche particolare sistema di supporto(immagini disallineate che devono collimare / stanghette che devono coincidere ecc ecc...)?
Perchè attraverso l'obiettivo non ho alcun tipo di riferimento e credo che la lente del mirino sia impostata per supplire a qualche diottria in meno rispetto alla mia.

Don't know if I did understand well your question but, when the subject is in focus, the image in the center of the screen should be sharp and clear; if not in focus, the micro-prism will break the image in small dots and it will look split and fragmented (as an engraved image), losing clarity and sharpness.

If you find difficult to see clearly trough the viewfinder, you may need an eyepiece diopter adapter. If you have access to a vintage camera shop, it's a good place to look for it.

the wein cell replacement is available online. that being said it is only required for the meter you could always shoot sunny 16 rule this covers it pretty well

Eccoci qui.
Mi sono preso un paio di giorni per testare sul campo la spotmatic f.
Il mirino è evidentemente tarato per una persona presbite (credo), quindi devo abbandonare per il momento l'idea di mettere a fuoco istintivamente l'immagine.
Ci ho fatto l'occhio e oradovrei essere in grado di scattare correttamente.
Ho anche approfittato dei due giorni di sole che il tempo della Lombardia mi ha regalato per provare l'esposimetro. Dai riustati mi sembra che sia tarato correttamente.

Una curiosità che ho notato è che il vano per contenere il rullino è leggermente "corto", nel senso che devo grattare fisicamente un bordo del cilindro, accorciandolo di circa 1 mm per riuscire ad alloggiarlo nella macchina fotografica.
A qualcuno è mai capitato una cosa del genere?

One curiosity I noticed was that the compartment to hold the film is a little "short" in the sense that I have to physically scrape the edge of the cylinder, shortening of about 1 mm to be able to stay in the car Photo.
Some ever such a thing?

That's odd, but if you managed to solve that easily I wouldn't bother too much.

I would be more concerned with the eyepiece diopter adapter and not rely that much on focusing "instinctively", whatever that means :-))
