Pentax 50-200mm

Hello, friends!
I'm a begginer and a have to ask something: I want to buy a zoom lens for my Pentax Kx, but I find a Pentax DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 SMC ED WR and also a Pentax DA 50-200mm F4.5-5.6 AL WR.
Can you tell me if is the same lens or there are 2 different lenses?? And if there are different 2 lenses, which are the differeces and whish one is best?
Finally, I want to ask you if Pentax 50-200 mm is good enough for my Pantax Kx, or is better to buy a Pentax 55-300 mm lens (havier, more expensive)!
Thank you very much!!!

The second lens doesn't exist- looks like someone made a typo on both the aperture range and the AL element.

As a beginner, you'll probably prefer the 55-300mm due to the added reach. It's a much more popular lens overall.

I'll just add that since your Kx doesn't have weather sealing, there is no need to get the more expensive "WR" (weather-resistant) version of the 50-200m lens. This would be the one you want:

The 55-300 provides a significantly better image, as well as the extra reach Adam mentioned.

Hi.. i own the samsung Xenon 50-200..its the same as the pentax (both are made in pentax's hanoi factory and are optically identical) and i've got to say that it's a very decent lens.. Its got good IQ for its price but needs lots, i mean LOTS, of light to get the best images...
It's a question of budget..You can find the 50-200 at very low prices (sometimes under 100$ mint condition..i got mine for 70$)..but the extra 100 mm can come it all depends on the price..if you only find similar priced ones (where the price difference isn't very high) you should go for the 55-300...if you find a very cheap 50-200 one you should buy that one and save the rest for another lens.
(if you find a samsung one it may be even cheaper, it's the same as the pentax one and comes with metal mount..gotta upload some of my exterior sunny day photos)

and enjoy your new lens!.
