ME Super Winder

Well I`ve searched without success so I`ll have to ask

I`ve just purchased a winder for my ME.
Don`t know which one though.
Apart from the off ,C and S buttons which I assume are continuous and single shot there is another small button on the inside of the grip which switches the symbol in the small screen from Auto to 125 x I can`t figure out its purpose.
I know I`m going to sound stupid but there it is.
Whilst I`m at it I assume that the winder has to be disconnected so as to engage the film release on the base for rewinding.
It seems to be firing although I`ve not notice the film counter moving.

You have the Winder ME II. The Winder ME has the C-S switch on the back instead of the handle. 125x is the flash sync speed.

You can download the manuals here. Password is "Pentax".

The ME Super can also operate in completely manual mode at 1/125, if the in-camera battery dies (not the batteries in the winder). You will have no light meter, so you must use an external meter, or the "Sunny 16" rule.

Thanks a lot chaps.
Thanks for the link too.

I`ve now connected the winder to a camera already loaded with film and can see that although all lights are on and the winder is working its not moving the mirror.
I`ll have another look.
Thanks again.
Ps I normally shoot manual cameras and always use the Sunny 16 rule so I`m ok with that.
Although its more like Sunny 11 over here.
Yesterday it was Sunny 8

Got it working now.
The shop had put some duff batteries in.
Just enough power to turn the lights on but nothing else.
Thanks again
