lens compatibility

I have a pentax film camera with some sigma autofocus lens. will they fit a new pentax digital slr

they'll work just fine

one thing though, the smaller sensor, 24x x 16 high, will effectively crop the middle 66% of the frame (by dimension) as a result the field of view will be narrower.

at some point you will want to get at least a wider lens. Consider taking the Kit lens just to get that extra field of view.
