Lunar Eclipse coming soon

Apparently there is a lunar eclipse coming in the next couple of days. I didn't see any post for it.

It is supposed to be a nice one. Unfortunately the weather forecast is calling for partly cloudy sky's in my location.

I've been looking forward to taking some pictures of it but now there's supposed to be snowstorm that night. I also tried to take pictures of the Geminids meteor shower this week but I didn't want to risk killing myself or my camera with 20 below wind chills. Sometimes I hate Illinois weather.

My Tamron 500mm f8 mirror lens and 2X converter are cleaned and ready in case the weather works out. The forecast isn't great but who knows. I watched the meteor shower on Monday and it was 45F at 11pm. Last night, same time, 16.

Lol! Join the club!

I got my tripod, bag of sand, Sigma 600mm mirror and Tamron 1.4TC at the ready for tonight

Sadly the weatherman is calling for snow

I'll set my alarm for 3am and see... I'm really hoping it clears up!

I'm beginning to think that no one will be getting a clear sky tonight.

still new at night photography, hit and miss. I am using a Quantary 100-300 zoom and a 2x teleconverter, probably manual setting, what would the best settings be?

Argh, here too. Dunno if I'm willing to stay up from 2am to 8am, plus or minus, and still get into work. Its probably a good thing the sky will be uncooperative here.

Guess I need some sort of tracking device, now that Pentax has built in intervalometer. :-)

I should go hit the sack now and try to get some sleep. Gear is all set up, just up to me and the weather.
Darn that monkey .
Good god, that's quite the setup you've got there. I hope with all that trouble you've gone to, that you get something to show for it other than clouds. At least if all else fails, you can play that guitar if the weather doesn't cooperate.
