Pentax K-x AC Coupler HELP

Just bought K-X and need D-DC84 coupler 39693 to use AC. Does anyone know where it may be purchased. Your Forum, from the little I've seen is very impressive. Hope I can contribute in the future. Old 35 man, new to DSLR, and love what I see.

You could certainly buy a few sets of eneloops of $199 . I might be missing something, but why do people buy ac adaptors for the k-x?

I want one for taking macros, course I need a macro lens first
If you are setting up for the holidays and taking lots of pictures it could be handy.
Also for looong night time exposures anywhere an extension cord can be used...

Or am I the only one who travels that way

Not for nothing but, I can fill an 8Gb card several times, including using Live View, before I lose power with the batteries. I don't think the external power supplies are hot sellers. Probably why they are a bit difficult to find. As for Loooooong night time exposures, you aren't using the video screen so the batteries will last a good long time. The longest I've done, was 78 minutes and still had plenty of power to spare. That's with the (so called) crappy proprietary batteries that folks proclaim their love of AAs over. Certainly the long lasting AAs can do better than That, Right?

If you're handy with a soldering iron, you could start with something like this and add either a 6v DC power supply or a lantern battery for ~ $15 all in.

Please note I haven't verified that the K-x uses 6vdc, that's an assumption - double check first if you go this route.

AC adapter is convenient for time-lapse. And it puts out the correct voltage for a given camera, without much hacking.

Time lapse is the reason I'd give, where you might want the camera running for hours or days, but the K-x doesn't support that.

Forgot about the lack of remote control jack.
One could wire up remote control F to a intervalometer.

Thanks for all the guidance on the K-x. You have given me info. I hadn't even thought of. I'll skip the AC and stay with batteries. It seems many of you have a lot of experience with Pentax. Thank You all again. Blackjackbuddy.
