I doubt that you can turn on datestamp in the camera.

But .... with your K-x (and any dSLR), each shot is recorded with some detailed informations called EXIF data, including the date and time of the photo. These info scan be read when you review the shot and when you post-process the photo in your computer. (You can also use a freeware like www.photome.de to read these EXIF infos.)

A number of softwares will allow you to print the date on the photo. For example, Pentax Digital Camers Utility (PDCU) that comes with your K-x does. With PDCU you can choose the format, and the amount of info that is printed on the photo, as well as the position.

Hope that the info will help... and happy new year.

Merci d'avance

In PDCU 4.31, select File/Print the photo. The window opens and allow you to include the date stamp, change its format and its location.

I tried it and it works when you print the photo.

The RAW/JPEG files contain the EXIF data with the date and time. It is part of the file properties (ie EXIF data).

Hope that the comment will help...

I will never understand the reason for date stamping, especially since it's in the EXIF, as well as the date of the file in your computer window.

But everyone has different needs and wants regarding this.

You take a photo, give a friend a print and they forget when it was taken...
