You can adjust the ISO cap on auto ISO up to the maximum ISO with the Pentax cameras. My K5 is capped at at 3200.

The auto mode doesn't adjust well for the flash. I won't know why auto would ever default to 1/8 sec with flash on. I've been playing withe the camera for awhile and have a grasp on manual. moving to higher iso/adjusting shutter to get exposure of subjects and background i like.

What settings do you hand off to someone to take a shot with you though??

I really wish auto mode was a menu option that you could only select from there and use, instead of a mode on the dial. It really is a waste of time. I can understand letting someone become familiar with a camera using it, but really that's all it's good for. Just takes up space on the dial.

so i updated to 1.02 from 1.00, and now its way different. ato mode will bump it to like 1/30 from 1/8 when flash is up. Don't really need it ne more but nice to let other ppl shoot with it.
