k200d fault help!

My k200d will only function with the aperture ring control set to permitted and only then in a restricted manner the top data screen showing f-- .
I have tried both my lenses 18-55 da and 100-300 f and have downloaded and installed the new update to firmware (ver1.01) and have tried everthing I can think off , any ideas anyone ?

Thanks

If you're saying that regardless of the lens you put on the camera you still get the F--, try cleaning the contacts on the camera lens mount as well as on your lenses. For some reason, according to your description, the camera is only seeing your lenses as M type lenses. Dirty contacts Could account for that (in the simplest case).
