k7 problems

I just purchased a new k7 and can't get it to take a picture. I'am using a lens form an old K1000 could this be the reason? I also can't get into the shake reduction to turn it on. I have this problem with other functions.

First go and read the camera's operating manual thoroughly.
Then go to the Custom Setting Menu and change the default setting for Using Aperture Ring to enabled.

Once you've set the custom setting to accept your lens, you can set the focal length of your lens in the menu which will allow you to use shake reduction.

Also, turn off the AF as it can make the camera cranky about shooting when it doesn't think you are in focus.

I would also try a newer lens with AF just to make sure it's not the camera body.

All cameras are broken until you read the manual.
