One other tip... the kit lens (DA-L 18-55) has a sweet spot... it is significantly sharper at f8 than at other apertures. When photographing outdoors and going for sharpness, use Av mode, set it and forget it at f8 with this lens. You will be gratified at how much better your photos look. Obviously, this advice does not apply if you are looking for a shallow depth-of-field effect.

Thanks for this info...will give it a shot. I'm really pleased with how much my photo's have improved already with the advice given here. Onwards & upwards! REALLY loving my K-X!! Thanks all around. (Have added a few on flickr Flickr: twintasticand2's Photostream)
