K20...what am I missing?

Just got my k20 in the mail. And after playing with it for an hour or so, there is still one thing I can't figure out. How do I get the shooting settings to show up on my rear LCD like they do on the upper LCD? My Kx shows the settings all the time but the k20 only does when switched on or when info is pressed. I have switched the display from off to 3 seconds,10 seconds lije the manual says ... But nothing... Little help? The LCD works fine for all other operations but that.

You don't. The K20D doesn't have that feature.

The K20D will also display settings on the rear LCD anytime you change the shooting mode, like from Av to M.

Oh, darn, that's kind of annoying. I liked being able to quick check the rear, guess I'll have to get used to using the top lcd. Any other quirks il come across? LoL

Funny! Lack of a top LCD and having to look at the back all the time is one of the things people complain about with the K-x and K-r - guess it goes to show, it's all about what you're used to.

Yeah, im starting to get use to it now. But i have run into some things already where i really have to stretch to see the top, (if the camera is on a tripod at viewing level, thus making the upper LCD above viewing level) I think its just alot easier to have the choice to run the back LCD if you want to, or if you want to save battery, not run it... doesnt seem like it would be THAT hard to implement in a future firmware release (if they plan on doing more)

You can also look at everything in the viewfinder. Really, using the rear LCD has no actual advantage.

I have the K20d and rarely use that top screen. I usually just check settings in the viewfinder.

Same here, with most of the time shooting in TAv mode, I look in the view finder and using the 2 e-dials to adjust shutter speed and aperture, then rarely look at the top LCD .

Don't know if it helps but on playback of an image, if you press the info button it'll cycle through infomation screens, one of them being what settings were used.
Downside is your checking the settings after the image has been taken so it probably doesn't help !
