K100D Exposure meter malfunctioning

My K100D met with an unfortunate accident. I picked my camera bag off a chair, not realizing it was open and off balance, and my K100 tumbled out. I dinged up my A 50mm but otherwise the camera seemed fine--cosmetically.

However, it no longer seems to meter. All the other function seem to work but the meter just blinks and always insists there is to much light. I'm shooting mostly manual these days anyway (just invested in few M42 lenses) but chimping every shot to make sure I guessed/calculated the exposure right is annoying.

Ideas?

Sounds like a perfect excuse for a camera upgrade..........

Kidding aside, it sounds like you may need to send take it to a repair center, if there's one in your area.

I assume you've tried resetting the camera? Taken the batteries out and let it sit for awhile? Sounds like something got knocked loose in the fall. Without actually knowing what's wrong and betting it would cost more to fix it than replace it, a hand held meter seems like a usable option. I know that isn't the idea you were looking for but it's the best I have.

I have no idea, but just a wild gues: Have you tried with another lens? Maybe the camera is stuck reading fully closed lens?
Does everything else works properly?

Yeah, everything works great and has the same problem with several different lenses. Any one had or fixed a similar problem?
