iFilter for DWG

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get an iFilter for DWG files?

At work, we're saving them in SharePoint and can't get any metadata out of them at the moment.

Thanks,

Anthony

Looks like a DWG file is some sort of CAD file extension

Perhaps their forum might be more helpful

Well, that begs the next question; what is an iFilter?

DWG is the file extension for AutoCAD (and some other third party software).

Not that it matters, but i thought I would add my 2 cents.

An iFilter is a piece of software which is used by search engines to extract the metadata from a file. In the case of a RAW format like DNG, it would extract date / time, exposure information, copyright information etc.

I need to extract that data for DNG files into a MS SharePoint application so that users can search for DNG files by e.g. copyright owner, and so that file downloads result in the copyright owner being paid properly for the use of the image.

You can try a company named First Trace. Their url is Engineering Document Management from First Trace. They definitely have a DWG iFilter that works.
