[/COLOR]Wombat, I tried what you suggested also. Playing with the wheel, wouldn't you know it, it was fine. Changed f stops just like it was supposed to do.
Fingers crossed it stays that way! I read somewhere that occasional bits of dust or fluff can find their way onto contacts and cause problems. Working away at it I guess grinds the dust away and gives you shiny new contacts. At least if it plays up again you've got a few other options. Best of luck.

The E-dial is under the top LCD. These photos were taken to help me with the replacement of the shutter switch. My E-dial is OK.

Thanks for the photos gp1806, I'll try them after I use the contact fluid, and if it isn't fixed after that will proceed to take it apart. I've tore down pc and mac laptops and rebuilt them, so this shouldn't be too hard to do.

If you decide to strip it down, I'm sure you don't need reminding to take the battery out first....

Thanks for the reminder. But yes, I knew/know that because it's the same with laptops. And if I do tear it down, I'll remove the sdhc card also.

Well, it hasn't done that odd thing since I played with the wheel. And today, I took my Giottos Rocket blower and blew air in each side of the wheel. Maybe that helped too.

Remember this thread guys? I fixed the problem. I disassembled the camera today, sprayed some contact fluid into the hole where the wheel was, reassembled camera and it's working now. Much smoother too. Thanks everyone for your assistance on this.

I'll take photos now and post in the Market Place. I have no need for two digitals if one is more MP than the other.
