Safe Flash Equiptment for K7/AF240Z&AF280T

Hi, I have a feeling this has probably been discussed..but i couldn't find anything relating to the k7. I am very clueless about how the voltages work in anything...so I just wanted to be on the safe side, as I have been advised to take caution in using older flashes with the k7. The two older flashes I have is the AF240Z and the AF280T. Thanks!

Nick

Hey Nick, sorry, I owed you an IM back on this.

From what I've read, you should be fine with those flashes, but it still wouldn't hurt to invest in a voltage meter and test for yourself before using. Every man should have a voltage meter in his toolbox.

I have a bunch of manual flashes, but never bothered testing them, as all are used off camera, with wireless triggers.

I assume you've also read, and understand that those old flashes, even if they are low voltage, will only work in manual mode, on camera. No PTTL.

Cheers.

AF 280T is safe to use, reads 7.2vdc. Don`t have a 240 so no comment on it.

I have the 240Z and have used it safely on my Sony V3 and my K-x. You can check the voltage here:

I'm on my iTouch now and can't post the link, but if you ever come across a bargain old flash and you're worried about voltage, Photodiox now sells a SafeSync adapter for just 16 bucks, as opposed to 50 plus for the Wein. You can find it on Amazon.
